Hello! Welcome to the Rain Drop. My name is Shauna and I am an 18 year old artist, musician, and lover of Jesus! I am incredibly excited to start this blog, but before I explain the purpose of this blog, I'll say a little more about myself and my story!
I grew up going to church regularly with neighbors, but never truly understood anything or who Jesus really was. Life went on and church became just a distant memory. As I entered into high school, I found myself looking for a place to really belong. I began anxiously searching for a place to fit in, but I soon found myself in the wrong crowd doing the wrong things surrounded by the wrong people. By the end of my junior year, I felt like all hope was lost. But I was completely wrong, thank goodness!
The summer going into my senior year, my life got flipped upside down (even more than it already was). In just a month and a half, I had lost my great grandmother, left multiple relationships, and experienced my mother being in a life threatening car accident. My life seemed like it was falling to pieces, but it was actually falling into place.
During this time period was when God really revealed himself to me and helped me understand who He was. He showed me that He has never, and will never, leave my side. He showed me what real love, joy, and happiness is supposed to be. After that summer, my life has not been the same since. God brought so many amazing people in my life to help me learn, grow, and prosper into who He is calling me to be. To this day, I am able to look around at my church family and always be reminded of God's love.
Currently, I am on staff at my church as a Coordinator for the children's church and a leader for the high school youth! One of my biggest hobbies is art. I love to create all kinds of different pieces of art. Here are some I have done.
Now that you know more about me and my story, let me explain why I created The Rain Drop!
In December of 2017, one of my mentors at my church gave a message about what faith can do. He explained how even the smallest amount of faith, "can move mountains" (Matthew 17:20 NIV). In the Bible it compares this tiny faith with a mustard seed, because having even the smallest amount of faith, is better than having none at all. Although, even if you have enormous faith, you must have love before anything. If they "do not have love, they have nothing" (1 Corinthians 13:2 NIV).
A mustard seed represents faith that is planted in our hearts, and the rain drop represents the love the grows the faith.
This blog was created to love others so that seeds of faith can grow all over the world one day. My hope and prayer is that this blog enables you to meet others right where they are in life, and to love them unconditionally. I'll also be blogging about artwork, music, and more!
I can't wait to begin this adventure of blogging and loving others with you!
